Abstract

Introduzione: l’infermiere scolastico è un professionista specializzato che protegge e promuove la salute e il rendimento complessivo degli studenti. La complessità e le esigenze di salute degli studenti nelle scuole sono in continua evoluzione e l’infermiere sembra essere il professionista in grado di rispondere a questi bisogni.


Obiettivo: dimostrare la validità di uno nuovo strumento di valutazione della percezione del ruolo dell’infermiere scolastico in Italia.


Metodi: questo studio ha coinvolto tre scuole medie superiori e un corso di studi in Infermieristica del nord Italia. Nell’anno scolastico 2019-20 sono stati intervistati con un questionario realizzato attraverso una review. Sono stati eseguiti calcoli di validazione dello strumento.


Risultati: il campione è composto da 218 studenti, il 40,4% delle scuole superiori e i restanti della scuola di infermieristica. Entrambi hanno evidenziato buoni livelli di accordo rispetto alle competenze dell’infermiere scolastico. I risultati hanno mostrato un’Alfa di Cronbach di 0,92 della scala e variabile da 0,85 a 0,91 fra i fattori con una buona ampiezza campionaria (KMO = 0,90). Gli item hanno verificato le correlazioni item-totale e i criteri di variabilità di risposta. L’analisi fattoriale ha evidenziato un modello a 2 fattori in grado di spiegare il 62,4% della varianza senza registrare significative differenze fra il fattore “competenze tecniche-cognitive” con il 32,8% e il fattore “competenze relazionali ed educative” con il 29,6%.


Conclusioni: i risultati di questo studio possono essere utili per descrivere le funzioni dell’infermiere scolastico, sostenere la qualità dei servizi offerti dalla scuola e supportare gli infermieri scolastici mentre si sforzano di migliorare la salute delle comunità scolastiche.
